Words are not just sounds we release into the air. They are seeds we plant daily. According to scripture, we will eventually eat the fruit they produce.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us: "Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
This verse is both powerful and sobering. It reveals a truth many of us overlook: our words are actively shaping our lives.
Words Are Seeds! Every time you speak, you are planting something. When you say things like:
“I’m tired of struggling”
“I’m not good enough”
“I’ll never get ahead”
You are planting seeds of defeat and limitation.
But when you declare:
“God is my provider”
“I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me”
“I am growing and progressing”
You are planting seeds of faith and life.
Galatians 6:7 reminds us that we reap what we sow. This principle applies not only to actions but also to our words. We don’t just plant seeds, we eat from them. Negative words eventually produce negative mindsets, behaviors, and outcomes. Not because God desires harm, but because our words align us with either life or death. Jesus said in Matthew 12:36-37 that we will be held accountable for our words. This shows just how serious our speech really is.
Take a moment to reflect and ask yoursel, "What do I say about:
My finances?
My body?
My business?
My future?
Are your words filled with faith or fear? You cannot consistently speak negativity and expect a positive, fruitful life. So, choose life daily. Choosing life with your words has to be intentional. It means speaking truth even when your circumstances don’t match...yet.
Proverbs 15:4 says: "The soothing tongue is a tree of life."
Imagine your words becoming a source of life not only for you, but for your family, your business, and your community.
You are always eating the fruit of your words, so ask yourself," Am I feeding myself life
or am I eating poison?"
The good news is you can change what you plant starting today. Choose words that produce LIFE.
